THIS IS A GREAT TRICK!!! I must admit, when it first came on the market, I glossed over it, not realizing how wonderful this prop really is! I used it as a running gag in over 40 library shows last summer, and it is now in my daycare shows. The performer explains that every magician is supposed to produce a rabbit from his hat but lo and behold you dropped your hat on the way to the show and a truck flattened it. The hat is introduced and shown to be empty. Magi exclaims that he knows that his rabbits are still somewhere around. He reaches into the hat and produces seven different colored rabbits each time showing the hat empty. After producing the seven rabbits the magician says that his rabbits have something to say, and you turn the rabbits around and “Goodbye” is spelled on the backs of the rabbits. The rabbits are white on the back side, so you can use dry erase markers to spell any message you like, up to seven letters. It is great for spelling the birthday child’s name.

This effect works fine as a stand alone routine, but I like use it as a running gag, producing a rabbit after each trick in my show. Say something funny that rhymes about each color rabbit
RED - Here's Red, he finally got out of bed.
BLUE - Here's Blue, how do you do.
YELLOW - Ah, Yellow, what a mellow fellow.
GREEN - Here’s Mr. Green-he’s really keen.
VIOLET - This is Mr. Violet, he’s always silent.
WHITE - Here’s Mr. White, he’s always right
PINKY - This is Pinky, he’s very stinky.

At the end of the routine, you have a very colorful display of seven rabbits! Comes complete with the display stand, which folds in half for packing. A really deluxe outfit! $175.

Run Run Rudolph!
Here’s a routine with fun, color, and excitement! You show Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, as you talk about his favorite game, hide and seek. Place Rudolph into a beautifully decorated two-door cabinet. Rudolph slides behind one door then the other, but you can’t seem to find him. He even peeks out from behind a door! Finally, both doors are opened, and Rudolph has vanished! Find him hanging on your back, or even out in the audience! Here is a high-energy routine, with lots of action to get a great response! This is a high-quality prop, built for years of use by Fairchild Entertainment. The cabinet is 16 inches long by about 10 inches high, and the Rudolph cards stand 8 inches high by 5 inches wide. Comes with an extra set of space alien cards, so you can use it year round.          Only $150.

Frosty.jpg (200997 bytes)Forgetful Frosty
You tell a story about how you built a snowman when you were a child. The head fell off and your neighbor wrapped it in a newspaper, and brought it inside. (Remove the head, and drop it into a newspaper.) When the head was brought inside, what happened? That’s right—it melted! You pour water from the newspaper into a cup and show the head has vanished. You replace the missing head with a white balloon, but it’s not the same. Get the kids to clap their hands and make a cool breeze to freeze the water. Toss the cup of water at the balloon, and confetti (snow) flutters down. The balloon pops, and Frosty’s head returns once more!

Comes complete with 16 inch tall snowman, newspaper, balloons, and gimmicks. Concept by Tim Deremer, and expertly crafted by Fairchild Entertainment. Only $135.

Here is my favorite book on entertaining children, written by my friend and all-around great guy Sammy Smith. This book features 15 complete routines of magic and comedy, guaranteed to get great audience reactions. You'll read Sammy Smith's complete patter, word-for-word, from start to finish for each effect. You'll learn how to say the patter -- when to pause and what tone of voice to use -- to get the best response. Of course, you'll want to adapt these routines to fit your own personality, but learning from the author's more than 20 years' experience in entertaining children will save you valuable time and give you crucial information on how to get big laughs from little people.

Routines range from original effects to new presentations of classics. You'll read Sammy's handling of time-tested classics such as Cut and Restored Rope, Multiplying Billiard Balls, and Miser's Dream. And you'll find his original effects such as Headband Blendo, all updated from the first edition of Big Laughs for Little People with the latest improvements for the 21st century!

In addition to the kid-show routines, Sammy shares his best tips and advice for entertaining children, learned from literally thousands of performances. This is a textbook on entertaining children with comedy and magic which every kid-show performer should own and use. The comments which a prominent children's performer made about the original edition of this book are even more valid with this newly revised and updated edition:

"Big Laughs for Little People gives readers an opportunity to go backstage with a real pro and watch the show from behind the scenes. In a word, the book is tremendous." -Fetaque Sanders

Routines include:

Headband Blendo (new version)
, Cash Surprises (coin routine). Do yourself a favor, and learn from this great book! Only $25.
