Silver
Scepter
One of my favorite opening effects! This 16" long gleaming silver color
metal rod comes alive in your hands! It rises up from under a handkerchief, then
rises from its carrying case which is supplied, then moves horizontally right
and left, and finally shoots itself... high into the air! Absolutely no threads.
Gets tremendous reaction from the kids! Just $10
PS: For a great routine with the Silver Scepter, check out
Terry Herbert's DVD, "Magic for Under Fives."

Bunny
Hat
We've
just gotten these in, and have a limited supply of only 6. Once they're
gone--that's it! Show this black plush kidsize top hat. Have a child face the
audience, and as you step behind him or her to put it on the head, you turn it
quickly inside-out and put it on the child’s head as you see in the photo with
my friend Lindsey. Hold up your finger and caution the kids NOT to tell her!
Proceed with your trick. She doesn’t know what’s up there! At the end, ask
her if she’s had a rabbit on her mind…remove the hat and show her for a big
laugh. Terry Herbert bought one. A week later he tried pulling a rabbit out of a
hat at a party, which always failed (running gag, magician in trouble). Finally
he put the hat-- flipped inside out without looking--on his own head, and the
children howled with laughter. $35

Foot Ruler New Model with Kicker
Ending!
Here is a classic kid-show gag, made with high quality materials and a
great kicker ending! You call a child up, and explain that they have to be 6
feet tall to assist with your trick. You ask if the child knows how tall they
are, and since most kids don't, you offer to measure them to make sure they are
tall enough. You bring out your ruler, open it up, and six panels drop down,
with each panel having a "foot." (The kind found at the end of your
leg, not on a ruler!) You hold it next to the kid, and say, "yep, you're
six feet tall!" Then you explain at your last show, you had a few people
from Canada in the audience. They use the metric system in Canada, and 6 feet is
about the same as two meters. So, you turn the ruler around, and you show two
meters...parking meters, that is! A funny bit of business that always gets
laughs or groans--and a groan is as good as a laugh! This model is made by
Fairchild, and features bright yellow plastic panels, and vinyl graphics. When
closed, measures 8 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches. Open, it is 46 inches long. Try
it--you'll like it! $35.
Jump Ropes
OK,
I know this effect has been on the market for a while, and I don't know what
took me so long to try it. I am using this effect in my own shows, and I really
love it! Two paper bags are shown. There is a 2 foot red rope in one bag and a 2
foot white rope in the other. Snap your fingers and the ropes change places.
Snap again and they jump back to where they started. The spectators think you
have an extra length of rope in each bag - they are correct! You reach into the
bags and bring out two 24 inch, red and white striped ropes, leaving the bags
completely empty! Comes complete with 2 paper bags, 4 lengths of rope and
instruction sheet. Rope length approximately 24." Only $20
Deja
Zoo by Samuel Patrick Smith
This is one of the cleverest and cutest tricks to come out in
years. You show the audience a set of animal flash cards, each with a
different zoo animal—Zebra, Kangaroo, Giraffe, Elephant, Lion, Tiger,
Panda Bear, Snake, etc. The cards are jumbo size, large enough to be
seen from a distance. Two people
in the audience THINK of an animal. They don’t
tell anyone. You pick up two blank cards and make a quick sketch
of the animals you believe they have thought about.
Your predictions are placed on a wooden display stand. When you
turn the stand around, you have correctly guessed the two animals.
You’re a genius! But now everyone knows it!
PLEASE NOTE: Absolutely no artistic skill is required! You never
actually have to draw anything—the trick is gimmicked and ready to use
right out of the package! Everything
you need is supplied, the gimmicked cards, marker, card stand, and a
routine by Samuel Patrick Smith. Deja Zoo plays well for both kids and
adults! $35.
Super
Frog by Samuel Patrick Smith
Show a picture of Super Frog wearing his bright red cape. Slide him into
an envelope and hand it to a magic helper. Next show an empty envelope
and give it to a second magic helper. Say the magic words and Super Frog
will jump from one envelope to the other—or will he? When the card is
removed from the first envelope, Super Frog is gone—a cut out area
where he used to be is all that remains. You can see right through the
card. Did he jump to the other envelope? When you turn it over,
there’s no frog, but a little red silk cape tumbles out! "He
can’t fly without his cape!"
You make the cape disappear, and the frog—wearing his cape—appears
on the second helper’s back! Kids roar! Adults laugh! SUPER FROG is a
hero, and you’re a SUPER HERO! A very cute, highly visual trick
that’s easy to perform. Printed in three colors, and very well made.
Includes Sammy Smith's wonderful, laugh-packed routine! Made to last! $20.
What's
My Job
Another highly visual and easy to perform effect from children's
entertainer Sammy Smith. The magician displays a picture book of people
at their different jobs-a doctor, chef, plumber, police officer, welder,
fire fighter, artist, farmer, etc. A spectator freely selects one
picture, let's say a fire fighter. A prediction envelope-in full view
the whole time-is now opened. "And here is my prediction, the fire
fighter-when he was just a baby!" The performer removes a picture
of an infant in a baby bonnet! (Groans and laughs from the audience.)
"Well, he knew from the very beginning what he wanted to be when he
grew up, and of of course, he decided to become ..a fire fighter."
The picture is turned around, it's a fire fighter!
Large, clear drawings make this great even for large audiences. Comes complete.
Only $20
Sketch-O-Magic
Show a sketch pad of different
faces with pages pre-cut into three segments to create a flip-book, so
you can come up with lots of combinations and colors by flipping to
different pages. You let three spectators make apparently random
selections—the top of a head from one picture, eyes and a nose from
another picture, and a mouth from another. Ask a spectator to open an
envelope you previously gave him. He pulls out a picture which matches
perfectly the audience’s selection! Strong, visual magic which gets
the audience involved. Great for close-up or stage. You’ll flip over
it!
Sketch-O-Magic is only $25.
Sketch-O-Magic
II
This is the same effect as
the original Sketch-O-Magic, but with a different prediction picture for
repeat performances (see photo). The book looks just like the original
so those who have seen it before will be thrown off track. (The
propeller beanie guy is one of the choices in this book, but he's not
the force picture.) Show a sketch pad of different faces with pages
pre-cut into three segments to create a flip-book, so you can come up
with lots of combinations and colors by flipping to different pages. You
let three spectators make apparently random selections—the top of a
head from one picture, eyes and a nose from another picture, and a mouth
from another. Ask a spectator to open an envelope you previously gave
him. He pulls out a picture which matches perfectly the audience’s
selection! Strong, visual magic which gets the audience involved. Great
for close-up or stage. You’ll flip over it! Sketch-O-Magic
II is only $25.
Strat-O-Spheres
This kid-show classic
belongs in every magician's repertoire. This trick has a place on my
list of five favorite tricks. Whenever I perform this wonderful effect,
the kids keep asking me throughout the show to "do it again!"
Effect: Although there is only enough room in the tube for the three
balls, one on top of the other, the ball placed on top of the three
magically appears on the bottom or in the center of the stack of three.
The red one seems to be the ball that likes to do the wandering.
Finally, the magician takes this roaming ball and places it in the
wooden box. He grasps the box by the ends of the doors and flips it
open. The ball has vanished! The audience sees completely thru
the box. The ball reappears in the plastic tube between the other two.
The red-green-yellow color combination offers several safety routine
possibilities. Manufactured by MAK Magic, and supplied complete with
decorated metal cylinder, clear plastic tube and base, the balls, and
the vanish box. Only $65.
